15:45 Data models for asset management
Application and enterprise data architectures tend to be inflexible, inconsistent, and less than optimal. This results in costly application failures, massive data duplication, data quality and performance problems, as well as error-prone system interfaces. Architectures are poor because good designers are hard to find, project dynamics don’t allow for enough time and resources, and methods have hardly improved since the 1970s. A pre-built optimized data architecture, on the other hand, quickly provides a consistent, efficient, stable, scalable, reliable and flexible, yet controlled, data back-end and interface layer for vendor & in-house applications.
The session discusses this approach to data architecture and our experience with it.
